“Lost” + “Heroes” does not equal “Lost Heroes RPG”

I actually started Lost Heroes RPG before “Lost” the TV show premiered in 2004. Originally my RPG wasn’t called Lost Heroes but “Void Universe: Renegade”, which later became “Void Universe”. But even by the time “Lost” started, it was already “Lost Heroes”. There is certainly no link between Lost Heroes and the TV show Lost. I did follow the first season of Lost and followed into the second season but I’m afraid I didn’t around to watching more.

And now there’s the TV show “Heroes” which just ended it’s third season. I watched it to the bitter end. There are certainly some themes in Heroes that find a place in Lost Heroes, but they are a different kettle of fish. While Heroes is inspired by the world of superheroes and comic books, Lost Heroes is inspired by the original superheroes: the characters of mythology and legend. I never thought about the link in names before either.

All this to say that I find it kind of funny if you do a search right now on Google for Lost Heroes you get a hit that proclaims the link between the TV shows Lost and Heroes and then the other nine hits for Lost versus Heroes debates (the tenth is the hit for this site).  It’s is a bit of a leap there to claim a proper link between the two, Lost is created by ABC and Heroes by NBC for one. And no, Lost Heroes is not set in either of the worlds of Lost or Heroes. So in the end Lost plus Heroes does not equal Lost Heroes. End. :)

Welcome to Lost Heroes RPG blog!

Welcome to the new site!

I’ve been sitting on the domain for quite a while and I never really used it for anything. However I’ve decided to make Lost Heroes RPG more public and, more importantly, free.

I know there isn’t much here yet and I’m constantly re-organising the layout and even the look and feel is burrowed and hacked from my own personal site, but I’m enjoying getting ready. Though I still have a lot left to do on the current version before I can put it online.

I’ve decided to not include a forum or a wiki. While those things are cool, they require active users and I don’t imagine having any of those for some time. And also there exists already a web forum and a Yahoo group for Fudge (the system that Lost Heroes RPG is build on) that will do for any such discussion.

Stay tuned for more updates! :)

By the by, encouragements welcome!
